We completed our first science test this past week. I am extremely proud of all my students. They worked hard and their results showed it. Great job! Keep up the great work. We will begin Chapter 13 this week. Please encourage your child to review what they learned each day.
We will have our first math test on Wednesday, September 8th. If your child is having a difficult time with a particular method, please have them pull out their corrected homework/classwork from chapter 1 and review the concepts. Students were encouraged to keep all homework until the end of the chapter test. It should be in the math pocket in their binder. We will also have a review of chapter 1 on Tuesday in class.
I encourage everyone to utilize the website that is available for our reading and math series. The website offers not only their textbooks, but extra practice and tutorials. It is a great resource. The website is www.thinkcentral.com. To log in, please choose math, GO Math, and then select Florida, Sumter County, and The Villages Charter Intermediate School. Their login is their first initial, last name (no spaces, lower case) and the password is password. Each child has been given this information on a sheet that they are to keep in their binder. If you find that they are not able to log in, please let me know.
Wow! The response to the Kennedy Space Center Field Trip was outstanding. At this time we are no longer accepting additional participants as we have reached our maximum number. If you are still interested, you would need to be put on a waiting list. If someone backs out, we will take participants from the waiting list on a first come, first serve basis. Just a reminder that no paperwork for this field trip will be sent home until January.
The paperwork for the Daytona 500 Experience Field trip went out on Friday. Please check your child's binder for this paperwork. All paperwork and money is due by September 30, 2010. We are sorry, but no late payments will be accepted. If you are interested in chaperoning this field trip, please remember that fingerprinting is required and must be completed by this same due date.
